On Monday, July 30, 2018, Representative Vicky Hartzler will visit Job Point to tour and learn more about its YouthBuild and other programs. Congresswoman Hartzler is scheduled to arrive at 10:15am at 400 Wilkes Boulevard in Columbia, Missouri. She will meet with program officials, receive a tour led by YouthBuild participants, then stopover at Job Point’s construction site at 105 Lynn Street, Columbia, Missouri.
YouthBuild is a federal program made possible through the Department of Labor. Job Point has operated its local YouthBuild program since 2003. YouthBuild provides low-income young people with construction skills through building affordable housing for homeless and low-income people in their neighborhoods and other community assets. For unemployed young people who left high school without a diploma, YouthBuild is an opportunity to reclaim their education. Students gain the skills they need for employment, and become leaders in their communities.
Job Point is a not for-profit center focused on education, training and employment. The organization is headquartered in Columbia, Missouri, with locations in Marshall, Moberly and Sedalia.
