Job: Highway/Heavy Construction Instructor – Full Time

Responsible for the oversight of on-site construction training of students enrolled in the construction/carpentry training programs of Job Point. Oversee/Teach students the skills necessary to perform highway maintenance, heavy equipment operation. Teach basic vocational education of National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), modifying the curriculum and materials when required to meet individual and program needs. Assist with all construction programs as directed by supervisor.
 

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of professional construction experience working with all elements of highway/heavy construction.
• Certified or ability to obtain certification with NCCER.

• Teaching experience preferred.
• Experience managing work crews and construction sites.
• Experience working in a team setting.
• Ability to work enthusiastically with young people who have not completed high school
• Strong communication skills.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid Class E Missouri driver’s license within designated time frame and possess an excellent driving record.
• Must have or be able to obtain certification in CPR, First Aid and Positive Supports within designated time frame.

Working Conditions

• Work is normally performed in both a typical interior/office and outdoor work environment.
• Work requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
• Work environment requires occasional exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
