Columbia, Mo. – Job Point is thrilled to announce a generous donation from the G.P. M.A.D.E. Foundation was received earlier this year. This gift will significantly enhance our efforts to support opportunity youth in our community. This funding was designed to provide essential nourishment and reliable transportation, addressing two critical barriers that many of Job Point’s students face. Meeting these critical needs ensures our students can focus on the bigger picture: achieving their high school education and working toward a brighter future.
“We are incredibly grateful to G.P. M.A.D.E. for their support,” said John Scalise, President and CEO at Job Point. “When someone is worried about where their next meal is coming from, it’s hard to focus on studying for a test or a project that’s due this week. When students have access to healthy meals, they are better equipped to engage in their education and achieve their full potential. This gift helps make that possible”
Additionally, this gift helps address another major barrier our youth often face: transportation. From getting to class on-time in the morning to being able to get to an internship site, appointment or interview, many of our students simply don’t have access to a vehicle or a license to drive themselves. Job Point is able to make all of these things happen for students, thanks to the support of G.P. M.A.D.E.
“Without reliable transportation, getting even basic necessities becomes a significant challenge. This generous gift helps bridge that gap, ” Scalise added.
Job Point strives to create a supportive environment that holistically meets the needs of our students. Expenses related to providing meals and transportation are often not covered by other funding sources, so private donations like the one provided by G.P. M.A.D.E. are vital to ensuring that every student has the resources they need to succeed.
