Job Point proudly announced its 2017 Award Recipients during its Annual Awards Banquet at the Reynolds Alumni Center at the University of Missouri on February 15th. From over 400 persons served, two individuals were honored for outstanding employment and personal triumph with an Award of Excellence. Timothy Archer is an HVAC Technician at Master Tech, after completing Job Point’s Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning course. Kevin Smith is a Cart Associate employed at Walmart, after participating in Job Point’s Supported Employment Services. Job Point salutes these remarkable individuals for their resolve in overcoming barriers to employment. Carrie Brown, Placement Specialist for our YouthBuild program, was honored as the Employee of the Year for her dedication and service to others. Arris’ Pizza was selected as the Employer of the Year for supporting the talents of individuals seeking employment. The Bluffs was honored as Partner of the Year for their outstanding support with our Certified Nursing Assistant classes. Samantha Christensen, summer Marketing Intern, was acknowledged as Volunteer of the Year for her invaluable contributions.

For the fiscal year ending September 2023, we served 313 people, with job seekers entering employment at an average hourly wage of $15.80. Ninety percent of adults maintained employment for at least 90 days.
