On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, Job Point hosted its final Company Feud fundraising event. The final event was sponsored by Joe Machens Toyota and featured a single-elimination style game played out over four rounds with one team taking the grand-prize.
“After five amazing years, we wanted the event to end on a high note,” Steve Smith said. “We have been so lucky to have such great enthusiasm from our business sponsors and their teams and we cannot wait to introduce the next iteration of our fun competition-style events.”
Starting with twelve teams in the first round, the final round matched up Emery Sapp and Sons and Isle of Capri. Isle of Capri was out in the first round but won the auction to buy their way back in to the second round and fought their way to finals.
It turned into one of the most intense rounds of the game. After first winning the initial head to head, Isle of Capri passed and let Emery Sapp & Sons take their chances. And at first, it seemed like Emery Sapp & Sons was going to take the round – but after three strikes – Isle of Capri was given the opportunity for a steal! And they did it – winning the final round and taking home the trophy for good!
“One of the great things about this event is how it brings our business partners together for a little friendly competition, promotes team building and gives them the chance to see how their partnership with Job Point is so much bigger than the hiring of an individual,” Smith said. “Just like the incredible energy of this event, we are all enriched as a community when we come together.”
Through corporate sponsorships and generous night-of donations, close to $35,000 was raised to benefit Job Point’s programming. Private donations help ensure that even if a potential student, client or job seeker doesn’t qualify for other scholarships or funding sources, everyone has the opportunity to access Job Point’s unique programming and services.

Job Point’s Trade Skills program offers certification courses in Office Technology, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Certified Nursing Assistant, Highway Heavy Construction and Repair and Carpentry. Students work through intensive in-classroom and hands-on coursework before completing internships in order to earn their certifications.
