FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COLUMBIA, MO – Job Point is pleased to announce the completion of renovations on five bathrooms and the installation of a new shower for students at their headquarters at 400 Wilkes Boulevard. The renovation work was completed by Coil Construction of Columbia, MO.
Job Point was pleased to partner with Coil Construction for the completion of these vital renovations, of which Coil Construction donated $30,000 in labor and materials.
“They have an outstanding reputation for doing excellent work in a timely manner and with their incredibly generous and gracious donation, the price was right,” Steve Smith, President and CEO of Job Point said. “Their team was courteous and efficient and we are happy with how the project turned out.”
“Coil Construction is dedicated to building community by giving back through service,” said Barry Dennison, Director of Facilities at Coil Construction. “We believe in sharing our generosity with organizations like Job Point that make our community a better place to live and work.”
Since purchasing the building in 2019, Job Point has taken on the task of renovating it to enhance the safety and efficiency of the building and making it a better fit for the needs of the organization. Projects have been completed as funds have allowed, based on urgency and their impact on mission.
“Bathrooms were an urgent need,” Smith said. “Not only did we need to ensure that they were safe, reliably functional and efficient, we also saw a great need for adding shower facilities for our students and clients.”
“Students spend part of their day in the classroom and part of it working on the job site. As you can imagine, at times having a shower readily available is of great benefit to all involved,” Smith added.
To help cover the costs of renovating the building, Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits are available from the State of Missouri Department of Economic Development for donors. Businesses and individuals with business income qualify. Fifty percent of the value of the donation received may be deducted from the bottom line of tax owed to the State of Missouri. All gifts will enable building improvements to enhance safety for staff, students and guests, increase accessibility as well as improve energy efficiency of Job Points operations, allowing the organization to serve more people through their training and employment services. Credits may be carried forward for 5 years. Donors may also be eligible for state and federal tax deductions for their contribution.
